This morning at 0213 hours Battalion 1 was dispatched for a Structure Fire with entrapment in the Borough of Hanover. Engines 46-1, 46-3 and 49-2 along with Truck 46 arrived to find a 3 story apartment complex with fire showing from the Charlie side. Command requested the working fire dispatch which brought in all off duty firefighters. Shortly thereafter, Command requested the 2nd alarm due to the volume of fire and the need for manpower. Crew working the scene started fire attack along with search and rescue operations on the 2nd floor. As the fire was being knocked down the search team reported that the search efforts were negative. Once the bulk of the fire was extinguished crews then went to work opening up the walls and ceilings to extinguish the smoldering fires. Local 2045 members worked the scene for well over 2 hours. The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal arrived on the scene and investigated the fire. At this point there has been no determination on the cause.
