    At 0330 AM, 79 units were dispatched to the 1200 block of Westminster Ave., Penn Twp., for a vehicle accident with rollover. The patient was extricated quickly.

    BOX ALARM/SINGLE CAR INTO A POLE

    Gamewell Box 224 alerted B-shift today around 1100hrs for a Box Alarm at Broadway & Keagy Ave .  While equipment was responding, Hanover Police gave an updated about a vehicle accident close to the same location.  Engine 79-3 arrived to find one vehicle into a pole.  The Gamewell Box was pulled to alert the Fire Department of the accident.  Great thinking of Off Duty Captain Kemmberly.  The Box was held to Engine 79-3 and Truck 79, while Met-Ed secured the power and towing company removed the vehicle. 

    A note to our Citizens

    Gamewell Boxes are all over the town of Hanover.  They are the Red Boxes on telephone poles and buildings, red and white “Fire” stickers are on the sides of the Boxes.   If you have an “EMERGENCY”, activating a Gamewell Box is the fasted way to get Emergency Responders to your location.  Please remember always to call 911 after activating a Box, stay by the Box and wait for Emergency Responders to arrive.

    Rain in the Greater Hanover area today has brought multiple crashes for members of IAFF 2045. First one dispatched was at Moul Avenue and Ridge Avenue. Second accident was an assist to York Station 53 on Moulstown Road with one victim extricated. The third accident was on Eisenhower Drive which involved a mass transit bus.     Engine 49-2 from the Clearview Fire Station responded along with EMS from Penn Township to Wilson Avenue and Industrial Drive in Hanover Borough for a vehicle reported over a bridge and down an embankment. Engine 49-2 arrived to find Hanover PD with the driver of a SUV that ran off the roadway, down the embankment, over a traffic sign and came to rest sitting in the grass, no injuries to the occupant.

    Late this afternoon, Engine 49-1 assisted Pleasant Hill crews with a vehicle accident involving fire in the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike. Engine 49-1 arrived to find a minivan alongside the road, well involved. Engine 49-1’s crew, along with Pleasant Hill crews, extinguished the fire and overhauled the involved vehicle.     Non-Injury MVA On Baltimore Street

    A non-injury vehicle accident sent units to the area of Baltimore Street and Meadow Lane during the mid-morning hours. Engine 49-1 arrived to find a rollback and passenger vehicle involved, both off the roadway. The rollback narrowly missed a utility pole that contained multiple transformers and high tension lines. No injuries were found and Fire/EMS services were not needed.

    “Bug” Jumps Curb

    Stations 46 and 49 were dispatched for a vehicle accident with fire in the parking lot of Giant Foods on Eisenhower Drive this evening. Engine 49 arrived to find a Volkswagon up over the curve into a bush, all occupants were out of the car, no injuries. Hanover Borough Police investigated.
