UTZ Summer Bash

Today members of IAFF 2045 attended the Utz summer bash held at the Carlisle Street facility. Members gave tours of the fire truck and handed out fire prevention material to the children and adults in attendance. We started the event at 12:00 and currently still here. The bash goes on until 6 pm this evening.

Fire Extinguisher Training

  
Firefighters spent the morning with employees of Snyders-Lance for their annual hands on fire extinguisher training. Employees were shown the proper use of a fire extinguisher and how to control and extinguish a fire by Penn Township and Hanover firefighters.

Stations 46 & 49 currently operating at an fire alarm sounding on center square at Yvonnes Bridal Boutique. Hanover Police Department assisting.

What are you doing on this high temperature high hunidity day? Station 46 firefighters are out checking over 100 pull boxes to be sure everyone in our community has a sure and rapid way to notify 911 in case of an emergency. 

Brother McSherry Returns Home

  
This morning our brother Larry returned home from his stay in the Brethren Home after being there for knee replacement rehabilitation. Of course, Larry’s first stop off was the Wirt Park Station. Jim Startel and Earl Shoemaker sprung Larry out this morning and returned him home safely. 

2nd Alarm On East Middle Street

web2An early morning house fire in the 200 block of East Middle Street brought Hanover and Penn Township Fire Departments to a house fire believed to be caused by a lightening strike with passing storms in the area overnight. 911 Photography Photo Gallery

Carroll County 2nd Alarm Fire

Tuesday evening Hanover and Penn Township Fire Departments were dispatched to assist on a working house fire on Westminster Street, just off Route 27 in Carroll County Maryland. Engine 46-1, Truck 49, Rescue 49 responded. Engine 46 and Rescue 49 worked on scene for about thirty minutes before returning to service. Truck 49’s crew operated until around 23:45 hours doing overhaul operations.
