Hanover Borough and Penn Township have started the process of creating a list of potential candidates to become career firefighters for Hanover Borough and/or Penn Township. All applicants must be a United States citizen and/or legal alien of this country, 21 years of age, high school graduate (or equivalent), and driver’s license to apply for these positions. If you are interested application can be obtained from Penn Township, 20 Wayne Avenue, Hanover PA 17331 or downloaded and printed out from the link below. Application process will be closed at the end of business day on September 1, 2015. A copy of your driver license and a non-refundable application fee of $50.00 must be submitted with the completed application. The testing will be in accordance with the rules and regulations of both Civil Service Commission.
Engine 46-1 and Ambulance 49-3 responded to the 100 block of Meade Avenue in Hanover Borough for a vehicle into a house Saturday.


An early morning house fire in the 200 block of East Middle Street brought Hanover and Penn Township Fire Departments to a house fire believed to be caused by a lightening strike with passing storms in the area overnight. 911 Photography Photo Gallery
Tuesday evening Hanover and Penn Township Fire Departments were dispatched to assist on a working house fire on Westminster Street, just off Route 27 in Carroll County Maryland. Engine 46-1, Truck 49, Rescue 49 responded. Engine 46 and Rescue 49 worked on scene for about thirty minutes before returning to service. Truck 49’s crew operated until around 23:45 hours doing overhaul operations.
