  • Another Arson Fire – Suspected Arsonist Caught

    Engine 46 sits behind crime scene tape after yet another arson fire in Hanover Borough. An adult male was detained by a young observant United States Marine who noticed he was acting suspicious in an alley off Fulton Street. Noticing smoke coming from a shed, the Marine held the suspect in a choke hold until Hanover Police officers arrived and took him into custody.This was the last of many arson fires over a few week period that plagued the Hanover Borough and Penn Township communities.

    Granger StreetA Shift ran a multi-vehicle crash with rollover on Granger Street Saturday evening.

  • House Fire in 52 Box

    1908005_741119185939246_8147458253039507283_nA shift ran a house fire in a 52 box late Monday morning. Truck 49 and Engine 46-1 were the first arriving units on the scene. Crews split as entrapment was reported when they arrived on scene. Crews pulled a dog from the house that survived. After the house cleared suppression efforts were continued, crews had the bulk of the fire knocked in about 10 minutes. Extensive overhaul was required.

  • Auto Extrication One Overnight

    grandview&bloomingGroveEarly Wednesday morning around 03:20 hours, Penn Township and Hanover Fire Department were alerted to Box 49-03 for a vehicle accident with possible entrapment at the intersection of Grandview and Blooming Grove Roads. Two doors were removed, the roof was flapped and a double dash vertical lift was performed.

    Box 083 sounded at 0126 hours Monday morning for a automatic alarm in Hanover Borough for New York Wire, Hanover and Penn Township A Shift firefighters arrived to normal conditions from the exterior. While investigating inside, nothing was evident, firefighters returned outside to find heavy smoke pushing from the roof. After going back inside, fire was discovered on divisions 1,2, and 3 of the drying facility. Three hand lines were stretched while truck 49′s crew opened up the roof.   • Door Pop on Carlisle Street

    carlislest46A Sunday noon time crash involving three vehicles at the intersection of Carlisle Street and Eisenhower Drive in front of Hoss’s restaurant had A-Shift performing a door pop on the white pickup truck driver. A total of three vehicles and six patients were involved. 

  • Garage Fire In Conewago Twp

    fairview4The fifth fire in six days for A-Shift is in Adams County, Conewago Township assisting Company 29 on a well involved 20 x 40 garage fire. Engine 46-1 assisted with fire attack and overhaul. Salvage 46 also assisted on scene.
