Today Members of Our Local, Along with Volunteers From Penn Twp. Took Gifts to People in Our Town who Needed Some Help This Year. So Proud of Everyone Who Donated to This Cause! Merry Christmas to All…
During this morning’s foggy commute, a vehicle accident occurred on Moulstown Road in the area of Youngs Road in Penn Township. Penn Township EMS units handled patient care while Engine 46-1 out of Hanover and Engine 49-2 from the Clearview Station handled fluid and traffic control. Car 49 (Brown) was in the area and added on to the call.
A reminder goes out to the motoring public to reduce travel speeds, allow increased following distances, and to ensure the vehicle’s lights are illuminated when driving in foggy conditions.
Just after 10:30 Sunday morning the Hanover and Penn Township Fire Departments responded for the second reported structure fire in just over a hour in the 500 block of Broadway in Hanover Borough. Both departments having been in a training at the “south park” station (Station 49) all arrived together with black smoke visible on side Alpha of a two story brick structure. Several IAFF Local 2045 members as wellas volunteers from both Hanover and Penn Township Fire Departments enjoyed some fellowship Saturday night in support of fellow Littlestown firefighter Raymond Boyd (center) whose family lost thier home and belongings to fire several months ago. A wing feast was hosted to support the family by his department.
Friday night at 2233hrs, engine 49-2 and Amb 49-3 were dispatched to Lee St in area of McKinley Ave, Hanover Borough box 46-06, for a vehicle into a structure with no injuries. Additional info was given as an truck into a house and reported to be stolen. Units arrived on scene with PD to stage while police surrounded vehicle to check for driver. No occupants were found and no injuries were reported by anyone in residence. Eng 49-2 remained on scene to provide lighting for PD. Minor damage to vehicle and house. Reported that truck was sitting outside at high street facility at maintenance running when it was stolen.
The long standing tradition continued again yesterday with Hanover’s favorite “out of towner” being welcomed back to town and this year he arrived in a brand new ride, Hanover Fire Departments brand new Sutphen ladder truck. The new mid-mount Truck 46 carried Santa and a few elves in the bucket and delivered him to his December cabin on center square. Photos submitted for use
