Celebration Lunch For FF Kemmerly’s Promotion
Hanover and Penn Township “C” Shift crews (minus FF Waltemyer who is on vacation) and some family members met for lunch today at Fire Station 46. We used this opportunity to have a celebratory lunch for FF Doug Kemmerly who is being promoted to shift captain on “A” Shift. From all of us on “C” Shift, we’d like to extend our best wishes to Captain Kemmerly when he begins his new assignment on June 27th of this year.
Refreshing Patient Packaging Skills On “C” Shift
“C” Shift crews spent some time this morning reviewing patient packing techniques such as placing a patient on a long backboard, using the KED device, and setting up the LSP half backboard. Thanks to Medic Christensen and EMT Stork for assisting us with this shift training!
“B” Shift Training
“B” Shift had a great opportunity to use a tractor today for stabilization, patient removal and patient packaging. Thank you Chris for the use of your tractor!
Also had fun cutting up 2 cars! Always learning and always training!

As FF/EMT Arnold was returning with Engine 49-2 from maintenance in Cumberland County, he came upon an accident on Carlisle Pike in the Hampton Fire Company box area. FF/EMT Arnold assisted with traffic control and EMS functions until the arrival of Adams County fire and EMS units. This just goes to prove that our members are truly never “off-duty” and will assist whenever the need arises!

Late this morning, Fire Station 49 was visited by a mother duck and her eight ducklings. They safely traversed the parking lot enroute to the nest without falling into the storm drain. Captain 46A (Spickler) was retained on stand-by in the event a duck rescue was needed.
