Firefighter B. McDerrmit takes the window of a Dodge Ram pickup on the parking lot of Apple Dodge, 200 Eisenhower Drive on Christmas Day. B-shift ran two previous runs throughout the day prior to this small electrical fire. Captain Spickler was working overtime with B-Shift. The fire was handled by Engine 49-2 and Engine 46-1.

Santa Clause Comes To Town
Hanover Fire Department B-Shift had the honor of bringing the man of the year himself, Santa Clause back to town after a whole year of him living at his home at the North Pole. The annual tradition happens every year the day after Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday. A small parade of local businesses floats, high school marching band and of course the fire department and Santa himself. Santa will spend the next few weeks making his list of local children who stop by his house on the square.

Car Into House
Wednesday evening around 21:00 hours, Hanover and Penn Township’s B-Shift was alerted for a car accident, vehicle in to a structure. Units arrived to find a passenger car into a house with a single occupant injured. One female transported by EMS to the Hanover Hospital. -
Gamewell Box Maintenance
Captain Tony Clousher and Firefighter Jim Startzel do maintenance on Box 234 on Carlisle Street Wednesday morning. This particular box was built in 1957 according to the stamp inside and the box works as well today as it did in 1957. -
York St. Crash

Garage and Auto Fire
At 04;19 Saturday morning, York County Box 46-01 was struck for a vehicle fire in Hanover Borough to the rear of 501 Moul Avenue in the alley. Shortly after dispatch, York County 911 upgraded the assignment to a structure fire with a reported garage on fire. Engine 49-2 out of the Clearview Station several blocks away arrived within three minutes of dispatch reporting “we have a small garage off”, -

House Fire On Grandview Road
Early Wednesday morning, at 02:06 hours, Box 49-03 was struck for the reported residential fire at 2469 Grandview Road. Engine 49-1 arrived to heavy fire conditions in the car port of a single family one story rancher. E-49-1and E49-2 stretched several hand lines containing the bulk of the fire to the car port. Extensive heart and smoke damage noted in the residence. Truck 46’s crew did exterior ventilation and overhaul. The box was held to the working fire assignment.
