Rollover On Broadway

Engines 46-1 & 49-2, Rescue 46 and EMS responded for a vehical crash with reported entrapment in the 500 block of Broadway in Hanover Borough. The entrapment was negative, one patient transported to York Hospital.

Commercial Building Fire (B-shift)

The B-Shift Brothers were awakened around 03:30 hours Monday morning for the commercial building fire in Adams County at Miller Chemical Company on Radio Road. Hanover and Penn Township firefighters operated at the five alarm building fire for over thirteen hours, with Engines 46 and 49, Truck 46 and 49, Portable foam unit, and several support units from both departments.

Annual Memorial Day Remembrance

Members of Penn Township, Hanover, Pleasant Hill and S.A.V.E.S. fire departments gathered at the Wirt Park Station for the annual remembrance ceremony where the list of members who have passed on over the past year are read. Each name read was followed by the ringing of the bell. After the ceremony, the brothers and sisters from all four Hanover area fire departments marched together in the annual Hanover Memorial Day Parade.

B Shift Goes To Suzi Suds
Hanover and Penn Twp firefighters were dispatched Saturday evening for a dryer on fire inside Suzi Suds on Carlisle Street in Hanover Borough. Truck 46 arrived under the command of Captain Clousher to light smoke conditions from exterior, heavy smoke conditions on the interior. Truck 46 crew grabbed “the can” and put the fire out. Further investigation found the fire extended into from the duct work into the structure. A hand line was stretched from Engine 49-2, the truck was extended to the roof while crews opened up the walls inside the facility. The fire was knocked, and all units were in service within one hour. -
New Probationary Firefighter
Newly appointed probationary firefighter Timothy Tyler started his career with the Hanover Fire Department in January. Firefighter Tyler reports to fire academy at H.A.C.C. in March 2015. Firefighter Tyler will be assigned to B Shift on completion of the fire academy.IAFF Local 2045 wishes FF Tyler a long healthy and safe career.

Early Morning Carlsile Street Fire
Captain Clousher (46-B) directs operations at a working fire at 972 Carlisle Street early Wednesday morning. Stations 46 & 49 were alerted at 02:11 hours for a house fire with people trapped. Truck 46 arrived to smoke showing to the rear of the two story occupied duplex, captain 46-B requested the working fire assignment immediately. Quick work by the crew of Truck 46 in locating and assisting six residents including five children to safety from apartment 972 1/2. The crew from Engines 46-3 and Engine 49-1 advanced hand lines to the second floor finding a small fire in the wall of the rear bedroom and extending. Truck 46’s crew went to the roof but didn’t need to make a cut, fire was under control by that time. Initial investigation indicates point of origin to be back wall near a electrical outlet. Chief 49 had command. -
RIT Goes To New Oxford Fire

B Shift was awakened around 03:00 hours Thursday morning to assist Adams County company 33 on a working basement fire on New Chester Road. Engine 46-1 and Rescue 49 were alerted for the RIT assignment. While en-route, a MAY Day was called on the scene for a firefighter that had fallen through the floor into the basement. The fire fighter self extricated himself with minor injuries. Both units crews stood by on fire ground until released by command 33.
