Just after shift change Sunday morning, C-Shift firefighters were alerted to a crash with rollover and possible entrapment on the Abbottstown Pike. Engine 46-3 arrived to the same crash Adams County dispatched in the 33-14 box. Units quickly assisted Adams County Engine 33-2 with stabilizing the vehicle and the extrication of the occupants in the Toyota Camry by doing two door pops. Engine 46-1, Rescue 46, EMS 49 as well as fire police also assisted on the incident.

Burnt Chicken Gets FD Response
Just as lunch was ready Friday afternoon, after a busy morning, Box 46-05 was dispatched for the FIRE ALARM at 201 Filbert Street in Hanover Borough. Engine and Truck 46 arrived to find nothing visible from the exterior of a one story single family structure. Captain Spickler, (working over), investigated and found a elderly female resident saying she burnt her chicken. A like smelly smoke condition was throughout. Positive Pressure Ventilation was used and the box was placed in service within fifteen minutes. -
Crash on High Street
Just after returning from the multiple alarm fire on Black Rock Road, Box 46-05 was alerted for a two car crash with injuries at the intersection of Third and High Streets. Commercial Building Fire
Friday morning, just after shift change at 07:44 hours, York County Box 49-03 was struck for the commercial building fire on Black Rock Road, just off Baltimore Street at the old Cold Storage Facility, the scene of a working for nearly one year prior on 9-27-13 (photo here). From the square of Hanover, Truck 46’s captain Spickler (working over) reported a large column of black smoke was visible. Engine 49-1 arrived, under the command of Captain Miller, reporting a working fire, and requesting a second alarm right away. The fire was through the roof on side Alpha, and the wall was showing signs of buckling, the fire was ordered to defensive operations shortly after arrival. Shooting / Murder On Square
Friday evening turned deadly in downtown Hanover Borough. Engine 46-1 along with EMS responded for a shooting where a 20 year old male was shot. The victim was transported to York Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A male from Harrisburg was charged with the killing. Hanover Evening Sun Photo

Broadway House Fire During Shift Change

Working Fire In Penn Twp.
At 2044 hrs units from Penn Township and Hanover Fire Departments (C-Shift) were dispatched to the residence next to 505 South High St in Penn Township for a residential structure fire. Deputy Chief 49 arrived on location with fire showing through the roof of the single wide mobile home at 511 South High St. and advised Y.C.D.E.S.of a working fire. Chief 49 arrived shortly after and assumed command. Truck 49 and Rescue 49 arrived and stretched a 1 3/4 hand line to the front door. Captain 49C made the attack on the fire while the rest of the crews searched for victims and opened up the structure. E46-1 dropped a supply line and laid in 300′ of 5″ to T49. The crew of E46-1 stretched a back-up line and controlled utilities. Interior crews knocked the fire down quickly and all searches proved negative.
