  • Ring Removal Training

    Ring Removal Training

Today member from Local 2045 “C” Shift participated in our weekly shift training going over wedding ring removal techniques for gold rings along with tungsten type rings. Crews started out with the basic of removing rings with oxygen mask strap, rubber bands and some lubricant. Once this was done we turned to using power tools for the “emergency” removal techniques. Crews using a Dremel tool practiced cutting the ring off and providing much need protection to each other. Protection was provided by using flatten spoons so our victims would not be cut from the tool. We also provided cooling protection of the ring since the rescue operation of cutting the ring off causes the ring to be heated up. Great morning of training on something that we don’t get to do often but as always, “Don’t train to we get it right, train till we can’t get it wrong”
