Less than 12 hours after becoming The Greater Hanover Area Fire Rescue, firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at East Walnut and Fulton Streets in Hanover Borough. Heavy fire conditions on arrival took the fire to three alarms.

Today, as we officially changed To Station 79, the stickers “In Memory Of Earl” have been placed on the air unit. Firefighter Shoemaker was killed in the line of duty in 2016

Busy Beginning for 2018!

First day of the year with temperatures in single digits bring four incidents for “A” shift. Pump Training
On this brisk Sunday afternoon crews from “A” shift were out doing some initial pump training for our newest recruit, Firefighter Kevin Keyser. The pump training consisted of using water from a positive water source (hydrant). His training consisted of single hand line, multiple hand lines and also master streams. His training will continue for multiple weeks covering all types of scenarios and operations before he is qualified to drive our engines!
Santa Arrives In Hanover

This morning Santa arrived in Hanover for the Christmas season with members of “A” shift bring the big guy into town with style. 2017 marks the 80th year that Santa has come to Hanover for the children of our community. His home for the season is located on Center Square. Please bring the children to see him so Christmas is filled with joy and present! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
Veterans Welcomed Home!

This evening members from Hanover Borough, Penn Township, and Southeastern Adams Volunteer Emergency Services participated in welcoming home over 120 veterans and their families. The veterans were on a bus trip to Arlington National Cemetery, the Vietnam memorial, along with other stops in the Washington DC area. This was a great opportunity to say thank you to many veterans which served our County!
