Clousher New Deputy Fire Chief

 

Tony Clousher, Captain 46-B was promoted this evening to Deputy Fire Chief at the Hanover Borough Council Meeting. Katy, Tony’s daughter had the honor of pinning her fathers new badge on him while the Hanover Fire Department A and B shift firefighters looked on. Deputy Chief Clousher officially starts the new position Sunday, August 30th. His official designation will be Deputy Chief 46.

Hanover Fire Department volunteer firefighters responded with Rescue 46 and Air 46 to a second alarm house fire this morning in Littlestown Borough.

Southside Crews Tackle Saturday Cleanup

Southside (FS49) fire and EMS crews took on the customary Saturday house chore of pulling all the fire and EMS apparatus out and hosing down/scrubbing/cleaning the apparatus bays. Mother Nature blessed the crews with an atypical August morning of low humidity and temperatures.

New York Wire Fire

 

Our usual Friday night box alarm for New York Wire Company came in at 16:54 hours. Engine 46-1 arrived on location  and reported  “smoke showing from the north tower again”. The crews of Engine 46-1 and Truck 49 found a small fire in the powder coating tower. A Dry chemical extinguisher was used by the engine company to extinguish the small fire. The assignment was held to the initial dispatch companies.

Captain Miller (49-C) and firefighter Jeff Cramer have a coffee while on over night fire watch duty at the  Carlisle Street fire. Hoarder conditions in the structure warranted the detail in case there was a deep seated fire that was unnoticed. 

Hose Cleaning Day

 

Yesterday’s 3-alarm fire on Carlisle Street in Hanover Borough makes for a Friday morning of hose scrubbing. A-Shift firefighters made quick work of the needed task.

After a hard fought battle today the three alarm fire on Carlisle Street, it’s dinner time and a rainbow appeared over the Wirt Park Fire Station. No pot of gold appeared but everyone did home home today, that’s reward enough. Photo by FF Tim Tyler

3 Alarms On Carlisle Street

 

Just before 12:00 hours Thursday morning, Box 46-05 was struck for the structure fire at 229 Carlisle Street for a fire in a laundry room. The fire quickly extended, eventually going three alarms.
