IMG_20151109_205031917[1]Last evening, the first class of a 16-hour Elevator Rescue Operations class kicked off at Wirt Park Fire Station. This class is split into two evenings as well as a Sunday and covers all facets of elevator rescue operations. While elevator rescues don’t occur everyday in Hanover and Penn Township, they do happen with some regularity. The instructor for this class is retired Harrisburg Bureau of Fire Battalion Chief and current Fort Indiantown Gap Assistant Fire Chief, Sam Clark. The class will make several field visits in Hanover Borough and Penn Township to look at and train on different elevator installations.
