Monday evening, firefighters from the Hanover Fire Department, career and volunteer delivered new bicycles to two young girls who lost theirs in a small shed fire early Saturday morning in Hanover Borough. The bicycles were purchased at Walmart by the B-Shift firefighters and donated to the girls.

Fill The Boot For MDA
Firefighters from both Penn Township and Hanover Fire Departments, career and volunteer participated in the annual Fill The Boot Drive for MDA today. Equipment and firefighters were staged at both ends of Hanover at the shopping center on Baltimore Pike as well as on Eisenhower Drive collecting money from the very generous donators passing by our apparatus and members. The MDA boot drive is an annual fundraiser where IAFF Local 2045 donates to each year.

Mutual Aid For Barn Fire
Engine 46-3 established the water supply with portable tanks this afternoon at a barn fire on High Rock Road in Berwick Township, Adams County. Engine 46-1 had the fill site for the tankers in the water supply shuttle. Both engines worked the scene for 3.5 hours. One week ago “A” shift covered rural water supply in our daily training. Yesterday training prepared our crew for today’s emergency!

Denver Drill Training
Crews from Hanover and Penn Twp. Fire Departments conducted training Monday evening with our newest “Denver Drill” prop at the old Tanger’s Building on High Street. Multiple scenarios and techniques were practiced. By the end of the night, crews were performing a rescue in less than 2 1/2 minutes.

Mutual Aid To New Oxford
Stations 46 and 49 were alerted to respond to Adams County box 33-4 at 06:10 hours on Monday March 27th for the commercial building fire at the old Keystone Diner (now the New Oxford Family Diner) on the York Road. Truck 46 was put to work on the “Alpha” side while other crews from stations 46 and 49 served in other roles including RIT.

FF Shoemaker Forever Memorialized
Today, volunteers are placing a new batch of memorial bricks in the Walk of Honor at the National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg Md. honoring fallen firefighters, and our brother and friend Earl Shoemakers brick was one of them. SUV Runs Off Wilson Avenue
Engine 49-2 from the Clearview Fire Station responded along with EMS from Penn Township to Wilson Avenue and Industrial Drive in Hanover Borough for a vehicle reported over a bridge and down an embankment. Engine 49-2 arrived to find Hanover PD with the driver of a SUV that ran off the roadway, down the embankment, over a traffic sign and came to rest sitting in the grass, no injuries to the occupant.

EMS Crew Transports Injured Player
The football players from the Baresville Elementary football team takes a knee in a show of sportsmanship and respect while our EMS crew attend to an injured football player from the Manheim Vikings.

North Franklin Street House Fire
Hanover and Penn Township Fire Departments responded overnight for a house fire in the five hundred block of North Franklin Street, where firefighters found smoke showing from a house. Firefighters found smoky conditions throughout the house. A dehumidifier in the basement is suspected as the cause of the fire.
